A LABOR OF LOVE.
When your love is also your work, it’s hard to make sure you don’t lose the spark. This page is dedicated to making sure I continue to stay inspired by others, choose my own projects, and create things that I want to create. Enjoy :)

PROJECT: STARFIELD
LIGHT THIS CANDLE.
The Starfield branding and marketing has been nothing short of awe-inspiring content. Yet, whenever the logo comes on the screen, I can’t help thinking about the changes I would make to it. Below you will read about my thoughts in the modifications, but I’m a dessert first person, so enjoy the intro animation sequence I made for the updated logo. All animation, sound design, and visuals done by me.

LET’S COMPARE.
Admittedly, these aren’t the best logos for an overlay, but we can still gleam some insights. With my updates in blue, you can see that the original logo’s wordmark sat below the center of the circle, creating a slightly bottom heavy appearance. I also sought to enhance the font by slicing edges of certain letters to increase the sci-fi effect of the mark, and further separate the T and L from the approaching circle’s edges.
Although I like the changes, I confess the original mark is still more fitting for the game with it’s NASA like interface and UI, but it was a fun exercise.
PROJECT: CYBERPUNK 2077
WAKE UP SAMURAI.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most impressive games I’ve played (even with the Day 0 bugs). The open world and stunning graphics completely immerse the player into Night City. With that in mind, I was always expecting to see more artwork like the game’s logo around the city. There’s plenty of art and graffiti, but none like the cybernetic style the logo poses. To address this, I wanted to redo the wordmark in the style closer to the games UI, while still giving credit to the vast graffiti influence the city has to offer. All animation, sound design, and visuals done by me.

SINK OR SWIM.
Overall, the visual language of the original logo sets up the world in an all encompassing way, showing the viewers street art, cyberware, and ultimately chaos all in one effective mark. But it was a lot of fun to play on all of those aspects with my own custom font, showing a starker contrast of each element, along with a more literal sense of what gamers can expect when they play.
PROJECT: BLAZE
IMITATION AND FLATTERY.
I’ve been inspired by a lot of great motion designers and artists. This short animation was an attempt to recreate a piece from G4K Motion’s work for HYPEDROP. I saw a lot of elements I was aware of but unsure if I could properly recreate. Pictured here is my attempt at sight-reading and reverse engineering an animation.

36 IS TOO MANY…
For a team bonding exercise, our design team decided to take on the challenge of 36 Days of Type, a social media challenge for designers to create one piece of work a day for 36 days rendering every letter of the alphabet and then numbers 1 through 10. So, we assigned each person up to 5 letters and/or numbers of their choosing, and set to work. Listed here are my renditions of 2, W, U, R, and N.
